Positivity Spiral is a very versatile cowl. Worked in the round, it makes use of filet crochet to add a lace-like spiralled pattern, paired with Herringbone trebles which naturally want to lie to the left, adding to the spiral effect.

Herringbone trebles create a flattened fabric that have beautiful drape. The simplicity of the stitch and lace section also means it looks great in most yarn weights and still remains a one-skein project. Based on a simple 16-stitch, 8-round repeat, this is a great project to pick up and put down and looks far more complicated than it actually is. <<<

The stitch repeat makes this pattern perfect for handspun yarns. You can use up every last drop of your precious yarn.

Positivity Spiral can be made any any yarn from heavy lace weight up to chunky and from 50g up to 100g. It’s the perfect one skein crochet project!

Yarn Requirements & Finished Measurements

The pattern gives a range of options for cowl depth and circumference based on the yarn weight you want to crochet it with.

You choose your favourite yarn weight, then check the measurement table to see how many repeats are needed for your preferred cowl circumference or depth.

In heavy lace weight and 4ply, you can use as little as 50g and use as much yarn as you like.

For sport weight, DK, aran/ worsted and chunky, you need 100g of yarn but can use more if you like.
