Herringbone treble crochet stitches (herringbone double crochet in US terminology) are a great alternative to standard treble crochets (double crochets in US)

They have a left leaning slant which means that when you work the next row, it creates a woven, herringbone effect.

There is just one extra stage to the treble that makes it a Herringbone, so it should all feel very familiar.

It is abbreviated to:

  • HBtr in UK terminology
  • HBdc in US terminology
